Day-by-Day Detailed Itinerary
Arrival in Guwahati
Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, meet your driver and transfer to the hotel. After check-in and some relaxation, visit the famous Kamakhya Temple, one of India's most revered Shakti Peethas. Later, enjoy a peaceful sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra River (optional) or explore the local markets. Overnight stay in Guwahati. Distance: Airport/Railway Station to Hotel: Approx. 20–30 km | 45–60 mins Highlights: Kamakhya Temple, Brahmaputra River Cruise (Optional), Local Market.
Guwahati – Shillong (Approx. 100 km | 3–3.5 hrs)
After breakfast, check out and drive to Shillong, popularly known as the "Scotland of the East." En route, stop at the beautiful Umiam Lake (Barapani) for photography and boating (optional). On arrival, check in to the hotel and later visit Ward's Lake, Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians, and Police Bazaar for shopping and local cuisine. Overnight stay in Shillong. Highlights: Umiam Lake, Ward's Lake, Cathedral of Mary, Police Bazaar.
Cherrapunji Excursion (Approx. 110 km One Way | 2.5–3 hrs)
After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to Cherrapunji (Sohra), one of the wettest places on Earth. Visit Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters Falls, Eco Park, and enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys. Return to Shillong in the evening. Overnight stay in Shillong. Highlights: Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters Falls, Eco Park.
Dawki & Mawlynnong Excursion (Approx. 85 km One Way | 2.5–3 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Dawki, famous for the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River, where you can enjoy a scenic boat ride (optional). Later, visit Mawlynnong Village, known as the cleanest village in Asia, and explore the Living Root Bridge and Sky View Point. Return to Shillong by evening. Overnight stay in Shillong. Shillong – Guwahati Drop (Approx. 100 km | 3–3.5 hrs)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive back to Guwahati. If time permits before your departure, visit the Assam State Museum, Umananda Temple (via ferry), or enjoy some last-minute shopping. Later, proceed to Guwahati Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey.
