Planning a Rajasthan Trip in the Monsoon
The desert is green for about eight weeks a year, hotel rates drop sharply, and almost nobody goes. Here is how to use that.

Rajasthan between July and September is the version most people never see: the Aravallis turn green, the lakes fill, and heritage hotels quietly halve their rates.
Where it works
Udaipur is the obvious winner — the lakes are at their fullest. Mount Abu and Bundi both come alive. Jaisalmer is the exception; desert camps are best left for winter.
What to expect
Rain in Rajasthan tends to arrive in short heavy bursts rather than all-day drizzle, so sightseeing is rarely written off. Humidity, though, is real.
